Your private tour begins when your driver picks you up from your hotel in Casablanca. First, we explore the main sights of the city, such as the Hassan II Mosque. Then we drive to Fes, where you spend the night in a riad or hotel.
Today we explore the oldest imperial city of Morocco, winding through its alleys and narrow streets. We start at the gates of the Royal Palace and continue to the Mellah, the first Jewish quarter of Morocco, built in the 16th century. Then you visit the famous Karaouine University, one of the oldest in the world. We also see the tanneries, the Attarine madrasa and the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss. After lunch, you visit several craft cooperatives. Finally, you enjoy a panoramic view over the whole medina before the night in your riad.
After breakfast, we leave for Merzouga through the Middle Atlas. First, we pass Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco. Then we explore the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see the Barbary macaques. Later, we have lunch in Midelt and follow the Ziz river to the Ziz gorge. After that, we cross the Ziz Valley, Erfoud and Rissani, where we stop to explore the local market. Finally, we arrive in Merzouga and spend the night at a local hotel.
After breakfast, we explore the desert and the Erg Chebbi dunes by 4×4. On the way, you discover the nomadic Berber way of life. Then we visit Khamlia, the black village, and enjoy a show by its famous Gnawa musicians. For lunch, you taste a traditional Berber pizza in Rissani. In the afternoon, you ride a camel and watch the sunset behind the dunes. At the camp, you enjoy a tajine dinner, mint tea and Berber music under the stars.
We start early to watch the sunrise over the desert, and then ride back to the village. Afterwards, we drive to Tinghir and the Todra Gorge, the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. Here you can walk through the canyon. After lunch, we continue to the Dades Gorge, famous for its sand castles and its rock formations called the monkey toes. Overnight in a local hotel or riad in the Dades Gorge.
Now your Casablanca to Marrakech tour turns west. After breakfast, we follow the road of the thousand kasbahs towards Ouarzazate. On the way, we stop in Kelaat M’Gouna, the centre of the Valley of Roses, for lunch at a local restaurant. Then we visit the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
